Basic elements to understand fictional scenario writing: the plan, the scenes, developments, resolutions, presenting the characters, turning points in the story, dramatic conflicts, silences, dialogues, etc.
Development steps: underlying assumptions, synopsis, treatment, step outline, dialogue scenario.
The budget: assessing the costs of different aspects of the scenario (number of characters, role categories, amount of sets, child scenes, night shooting, animals, etc. )
Screenwriter's concerns: creating tension between the unexpected and the inevitable: setting up actions of events to surprise the viewers and that are linked to the characters' destinies.
The screenwriter playing all the roles of the film: - how concise is it? - limiting philosophical and psychological elements.

Each day includes: a theoretical part dealing with:
- dramatic film screen writing,
- viewing of short film (or film extract) made with cost constraints,
- a practical part including writing practice (with constraints),
- testing scenarios in class with role distribution,
- open class discussion and feedback.
